Springtime Solicitors Are About. Get Your No Solicitors Sign Here

Woodlea Residents,

Remember, ALL SOLICITORS should have a valid solicitor’s license that should be visible at all times. Ann B. was just informed from one of our residents that there was a gentleman smoking outside her door in her entryway for 2 minutes prior to him knocking.

One of our residents has created a “No Solicitors” sign to post at your door. It has been modified to welcome the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Leesburg Volunteer Fire/Rescue Squads, etc. See the link below to print and/or edit your own sign.

If a solicitor to your home does not have an approved badge, be especially cautious. To report them to the police, call 703.771.4500 with a description of what they look like and what street they are heading towards.

Here is the link:

Get your No Solicitors sign at the Woodlea Community Watch page.

Due to the severe weather conditions several roadways in Loudoun County are closed and travel continues to remain extremely difficult, if not impossible.

The roadways affected are Route 287 north of Route 7 bypass (closed), Route 15 at Oak Hill (restricted), Route 690 at the Town of Purcellville line, Route 601 at Route 7 (closed), Short Hill Road at Allder School Road (closed).

Loudoun County public officials continue to strongly advise residents to stay home and not attempt to drive. This will help road crews keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.

Important - Home Security

Woodlea Community,
Please pass to your neighbors and friend regarding an attempted break in on Meade Drive in Greenway. Thank goodness for our built in security dogs!
You all know the drill…re-check all your window locks, back doors, and keep your garage doors down if possible.
We will be having another Community Watch Meeting in Feb. or early March.
Have a wonderful 2010!

Keep your eyes open and pass the word someone is lurking through Greenway.

Apparently someone tried to crowbar open our bottom sunroom door this evening; didn’t get in but tore the door frame all up. The dog was going crazy around 7:00 PM tonight so that’s when they figure someone was trying to break in downstairs.  Leesburg sent someone to look at it but there were no prints, just a bad footprint in the mulch that could have been made by anyone.

Don, I had them walk the perimeter of your house and all looked good. Roger, they made a couple of trips over to see if you were in but no one answered.
Fortunately Lexi and her friend had gone to dinner with her friend’s mother. The alarm wouldn’t go ready so I checked the downstairs door and that’s when I found it all mangled.
Please keep your doors locked and bolted. If anyone saw anything or anyone suspicious, please let me know.
Thanks and be safe,
Stuart
