Community Holiday Coalition Kicks Off 15th Year of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Program – Non-Profit

2010 Holiday Season

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Many of you know who we are and have helped make the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Holiday Program a success for the past 14 years and we thank you for your support. For those of you yet to meet us, we are the Community Holiday Coalition and we work hard every year to help Loudoun County families in need during the holiday season. In 2009, hundreds of volunteers and countless donors gave their time and resources to brighten the Christmas holiday of 1,800 families, including more than 4,000 children! We expect to the need to be even greater this holiday season and we are will need your help in order to meet the growing need in our community.!

There have been a couple changes this year.   The Thanksgiving Food Distribution is being handled by Loudoun Interfaith Relief this year.   They are currently collecting food (both for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but food to fill their pantry.   For Thanksgiving they are in need of $10 gift cards for each family, that can be used to purchase perishable items, like the turkey!  For more information please contact Interfaith directly at 703.777.5911 or check out their website for more information:  www.interfaithrelief.org.   Please note that we will  not be  distributing food at the December Holiday Store, if you are doing a food drive during the holidays, contact Interfaith Relief.

Please help us spread the word through your friends, churches, civic groups, youth groups, co-workers, neighbors…share in newsletters, emails, Facebook friends, church bulletins…and because of your help we will be able to bring joy to those in need in our community.

The Coalition needs a lot of helping hands…..to collect much needed “New” toys, clothing for all ages, gifts for seniors and teens and the many volunteer opportunities we need to fill.  Take a few minutes to look over the attached letter and informational flyer…….you’ll find all the basic information about the program and if you take a few minutes to check out the website at: www.loudoun.gov/holidaycoaltion try will be lots more information about the program.

We hope we can count on your help during the 2010 Holiday Season………more than ever we need your help to ensure Loudoun County families and children in need have a wonderful holiday season.

We wish you all a joyous holiday season and the best in the new year……

Sincerely,

Sara Westfall & Gloria Ngwenya-Mpofu , Holiday Program Co—Chairs
