Holiday Luminarias

This year, we plan to continue our Woodlea Manor tradition of placing candle luminarias along our sidewalks on Christmas Eve (around 6 p.m. or whatever works for you) to “light the way for Santa and his sleigh.” Proceeds benefit Backpack Buddies of Loudoun (we donated $4,000 last year!). Streamlining the process and timeline this year to make this a bit easier:

Place your orders at https://holidaysinwoodlea.square.site by Monday, November 29th
Pick up will be on Saturday, December 11th between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Woodlea Manor Clubhouse (1430 Hague Dr.)
Each order includes 36 votive candles and white paper bags – you’ll need to add something to weigh down your bags – like a ¼ cup of playground sand or pebbles and also fold over the tops of the bags to give them added strength
On the website, you can sign up to volunteer. We need volunteers to help us bring the materials inside the clubhouse (date is estimated 12/8, but it’s a little TBD based upon shipping), assemble kits so that they are easy for people to come pick up and then staff distribution on 12/11. We’ve given volunteer hours to high school kids in the past who need them for National Honor Society – happy to do this again!

There is an FAQ sheet on the website under “Learn More” which will hopefully help answer any questions. Thanks all!
